Password Reset
1. You forgot your password:
If you've forgotten your Microsoft Office 365 password, you'll need to use the self-service password reset tool. Here's how:
- Go to Microsoft password reset
- Enter your work or school email address.
- Follow the prompts to verify your identity. This might involve answering security questions or receiving a code via email or phone.
- Once verified, you can create a new password.
2. You know your password but want to change it:
If you know your current password but want to change it for security reasons, you can likely do this directly within your Microsoft Office 365 settings. However, this option depends on your organization's policies.
- Sign in to Microsoft Office 365 with your work or school account.
- Click on your profile picture or initials in the top corner.
- Navigate to the Security Settings or Account Settings (depending on your version).
- Look for a "Change Password" option.
Important Notes:
- If you don't see a "Change Password" option, your organization might not allow users to change passwords themselves. In this case, you'll need to contact your IT administrator for assistance.
- Some organizations might have additional security requirements for password changes, such as minimum character length or complexity.
Additional Tips:
- When creating a new password, make sure it's strong and unique. Don't reuse passwords across different accounts.
- Consider using a password manager to help you store and manage your passwords securely.
